How to become a volunteer

BENEFITS OF BECOMING A VOLUNTEER?

You can call MBDA and ask for volunteer services. First, recognize the skills and knowledge you can offer. Email or Call us and ask for a volunteer form. Fill out a volunteer form and state the days of the week you will be available. Also, give them your contact info for any new information and events that they have planned.

Here are some of the great benefits of becoming a volunteer:

  • Volunteering can help cure loneliness, frustration, and anger.
  • You’ll feel good working alongside others, make friends and build a good network of individuals who share your interests
  • You’ll feel a sense of accomplishment and pride that you helped out others in need besides yourself. 
  • Improves status of college and university students. Volunteerism would be great to add to a student’s resume, especially the hours they put in.
  • Volunteerism will showcase to employers your civic-mindedness, as they find this an asset in the workplace no matter the job they apply for.
  • Will strengthen you physically and mentally. You will be on your feet for long periods of time which promotes heart health and increased longevity. 
  • Can help you learn new skills such as helping non-profit organizations with finances or deliveries for food services.
